Total Yoga Nidra Teacher Training
A 5-Day in person training with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli 26-30 March 2026
About the training
The Total Yoga Nidra Teacher and Facilitator Training is designed for yoga teachers and practitioners who wish to share Yoga Nidra with confidence, whether in group settings, one to one work, or therapeutic contexts. The training offers Total Yoga Nidra, a comprehensive and non-dogmatic approach that honours a wide range of Yoga Nidra practices while recognising that people experience Yoga Nidra in many different ways.
Uniquely, this training explores Yoga Nidra in its full living spectrum. You are invited to deepen your own intuitive practice beyond fixed or trademarked forms, while gaining a clear understanding of different methods, lineages, and levels of experience. Total Yoga Nidra is approached as an intelligent and adaptive practice that supports deep rest, healing, and self-discovery.
The training is designed by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Nirlipta Tuli, who together bring over forty years of experience in practice, teaching, and therapeutic application of Yoga Nidra. The course is experiential and comparative in nature, supporting both personal development and professional teaching skills. The training is certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists for APD.
Training format
This is an intensive course delivered in two parts. The first part takes place in person at De Pastorie in Diemen, Amsterdam. The second part is delivered live online via Zoom. Included in the training fee are three video-recorded Total Yoga Nidra Open Circles to support integration and continued study.
Completion of the Total Yoga Nidra Online Immersion Experience is required before beginning the teacher training. This prerequisite can be taken online and must be completed prior to the start of the course.
Training structure & requirements
-
The in-person module consists of five full training days with Uma at De Pastorie in Diemen.
Alongside this, you receive access to an online learning sanctuary, recordings of the Open Circles, downloadable Yoga Nidras for pre-course listening, and comprehensive written materials.
The training offers sixty hours of guided study, practice, and support, encouraging the development of a personal daily Yoga Nidra practice alongside teaching skills.
Throughout the course there is space for questions, dialogue, peer practice, and direct feedback on your teaching.
The training also includes follow-up online tutorials, guidance for an in-depth case study, and access to recordings of live Yoga Nidra sessions delivered during the training.
-
During the training you learn how to design and deliver Total Yoga Nidra practices that are responsive to different contexts and needs. The course offers a clear understanding of the structure and function of Total Yoga Nidra, alongside relevant principles of yogic psychology and philosophy. You will also explore the historical development of Yoga Nidra across lineages, and learn how to teach with sensitivity to emotional and inner experience, while working within appropriate safety guidelines.
Graduates receive a certificate of completion, access to the Graduate Circle, and inclusion in the Teacher Directory.
-
In addition to the live modules in April and May, the training involves ongoing self-study, personal practice, and engagement with recorded materials. The total time investment is approximately sixty hours across the full duration of the course.
-
Before joining the training, completion of the Total Yoga Nidra Immersion Experience is required. This foundational course introduces comparative and creative approaches to Yoga Nidra and must be completed before the teacher training begins. You can take the course online on demand here.
About a month before the start of the training, you will receive the full reading list and preparatory materials.
-
Assessment takes place in two parts. During the online module you will guide a short Yoga Nidra practice for your peers and tutor and receive feedback. In addition, you will complete a case study involving the design and delivery of a series of Yoga Nidra sessions. The case study is submitted within three months after the course concludes.
Optional Evening Class: Yoga Nidra & Tarot
25 March 2026, 18:00-21:00 hrs
Welcome home to yourself. This evening opens with a gentle and nourishing Yoga Nidra, creating space for a shared Motherpeace Tarot reading that unfolds as a collective experience. Through this intuitive and co-creative approach, Yoga Nidra and Tarot come together to support inner listening and connection with your own inner teacher.
Guided by Uma’s intuitive and feminine way of working, the evening offers a fresh way of meeting both practices. Mantra and kirtan are woven in to support rest, reconnection, and a sense of being held. You can expect to leave the evening feeling rested, inspired, and quietly connected to yourself.
The evening class can be joined on its own, or added to your teacher training booking at a reduced rate when booked as part of the full training.
The Teacher
Uma Dinsmore-Tuli
Uma Dinsmore-Tuli has been practicing yoga since early childhood and teaching since 1994. Her work is rooted in yoga therapy, with a particular focus on women’s health and the restorative potential of Yoga Nidra. Uma is widely recognised for her pioneering contribution to Yoga Nidra and is the author of influential books including Yoni Shakti and Nidra Shakti.
Through her international teaching, trainings, and therapeutic work, Uma explores how yoga can support deep rest, resilience, and vitality across different phases of life. Her approach is shaped by decades of practice, research, and clinical experience, and is informed by yoga tantra and adapted for contemporary contexts.
My connection with Uma began years ago when I first met her as a student during her Yoga Nidra Teacher Training. That meeting grew into a long-standing collaboration rooted in shared values and care for the practice. Since 2018, Uma has been an integral part of Global Flow, often together with her partner Nirlipta, and we’re grateful for the generosity and depth she continues to bring to our community through her decades of experience.
