“I teach because I want to share the practice that has brought me so much joy. Nothing makes me happier than helping someone else move through obstacles, get in touch with their body, or connect to their heart and soul.” - Matt Giordano

Matt Giordano learned early on to approach movement with curiosity rather than limitation. As a teenager, his high school art teacher encouraged him to replace “I can’t” with the question “How?”, a mindset that would later shape his approach to yoga and teaching.

That inquisitive attitude became the foundation of Matt’s yoga practice. Combined with his interest in the physics of movement and subtle alignment, it gradually brought his work as a teacher into focus. His teaching is informed by a desire to understand how the body functions and how precise, mindful movement can create lasting change.

Originally from Sea Cliff, Long Island, Matt spent seven years living in Manhattan, where he developed his teaching style while working at studios such as Pure NYC and Equinox. He now teaches internationally, sharing a technique-based approach that helps practitioners work with their bodies in an intelligent and transformative way.

Matt is known for guiding students deeply into postures through refined attention to detail and clear action cues. His teaching draws on studies in biomechanics and integrative mind-body techniques, alongside influences from yoga, martial arts, acrobatics, AcroYoga, and Thai Yoga Massage.

In 2016, Matt founded an international school of yoga with a focus on community, growth, and authentic teaching. He continues to host trainings each year from his home base in northwest Connecticut.

Matt x Global Flow

I first met Matt Giordano at the German Yoga Conference in Cologne. I loved the clarity of his alignment work and the intelligence of his sequencing, which gave me a completely new and embodied experience of the practice.

At Global Flow, we appreciate how Matt brings precision and curiosity together in a way that feels intelligent without becoming rigid. His teaching supports a deeper understanding of the body and opens up new possibilities in your practice. We’re excited to offer you the opportunity to learn from Matt and to have him as part of our community.
