“Begin (embodiment) by noticing what already is. Yoga is to be here with whatever it is, rather than somewhere else.” - Janet Stone

Janet Stone

Janet Stone has been a devoted student of yoga for more than thirty years. Her teaching is shaped by a lifelong relationship with practice and a sincere wish to share yoga from the heart, as a way of living rather than something separate from daily life.

Janet’s path began at the age of seventeen through the meditation teachings of Prem Rawat, whose reverence for simplicity and the natural rhythm of life continues to inform her work. Her practice has since been deeply influenced by bhakti yoga and the eight-limbed path, drawing from her own sustained practice and lived experience.

In 1996, Janet travelled to India, the birthplace of her grandfather, and committed herself more fully to the yogic path. Based between San Francisco and Bali, she now shares the teachings through immersions, retreats, workshops, and teacher trainings. With decades of studentship and many years of teaching experience, Janet invites practitioners to question what they think they know, meet themselves with compassion, and reconnect to presence and the wider field of connection that yoga offers.

Janet x Global Flow

I first met Janet Stone at the Yoga Conference in San Francisco about fifteen years ago. Since then, we’ve hosted her in Amsterdam several times, and she has become an important teacher within the Global Flow community.

What we value deeply in Janet’s work is the way she brings an embodied form of vinyasa yoga together with bhakti and kirtan. Her teaching creates a practice that opens the heart and reaches places beyond words. Each time she joins us, she offers an experience that is both grounding and deeply moving. We’re grateful every time Janet returns to share her powerful teachings with us and look forward to giving you the opportunity again to practice with her in person.

“Janet’s training was life-changing. I’m in awe every time I train with her and her team with the level of education and heartfelt intention with every gathering.
